Stock value questions, answered

The basics, for small shops and stalls.

How do I calculate the value of my stock?

Multiply the quantity of each product by its cost price, then add the results together. For example, 12 items at 100 each is 1,200, and 7 items at 100 each is 700, so your stock is worth 1,900.

Should I use cost price or selling price?

Stock value is normally counted at cost price, since that's what you paid. Selling prices are used to estimate what the stock could earn (potential sales value) and your potential profit.

What if I bought the same product at different prices?

Enter each batch as its own row, or use an average cost: the total you paid divided by the total quantity you bought.

Why does my stock value matter?

It shows how much money is tied up on your shelves. Knowing it helps you spot slow-moving items, plan what to restock, and understand your real profit.

Is my data saved or shared?

Nothing is sent anywhere. The calculator runs in your browser and remembers your list only on your own device, so it's still there when you come back.
